Sentinel
Sentinel is carved from Canadian marble and represents man in domination above the Earth. The figure was inspired by East Asian statues guarding tombs and temples. Both components, the tall figure and the round, stone drum were carved from the same block of Canadian marble; as a result, veins in both components may be matched and lined up, if so desired. Dark streaks in the marble matrix come from iron and nickel deposits in the stone, which came from meteor and/or asteroid strikes, which took place eons ago on our planet. Iron and nickel are the final phases of a supernova, so parts of this stone must have originated somewhere long ago and far away. All components turn.
